General provisions

  • The AIFF is a National Association registered with the Registrar of Societies, Mumbai, under the Societies Registration Act, 1860.
  • The Headquarters of the AIFF is in Dwarka, New Delhi.
  • AIFF is neutral in matters of politics and religion and prohibits any form of political, religious, sexual, ethnic, linguistic, regional or racial discrimination.
  • AIFF is formed for an unlimited period.
  • AIFF is a member of FIFA, AFC and Indian Olympic Association and is self-obliged to respect the Statues, Regulations, Directives and decisions of FIFA and AFC and to ensure that these are likewise respected by its Members.

Objectives

  • To improve and popularize the game of football constantly and promote it throughout India in the light of its unifying, educational, cultural and humanitarian values, particularly through youth and development programs to urban, rural and remote areas including Schools, Colleges and Universities.
  • To organize its annual domestic and International Competitions.
  • To draw up regulations and provisions and ensure their enforcement.
  • To control every type of Association Football including Friendly Matches by taking appropriate steps to prevent infringements of Statues, regulations or decisions of FIFA, AIFF or of the Laws of the Game.

Lions International contribution to formation UN Charter for NGOs is well known therefore when the issue of AIFC came to be discussed SportingLions Foundation with its background for sports and management under its Not for Profit umbrella decided to incubate this Association for a period until it is able to function on its own SportingLions Foundation will therefore bring to the table formation of objectives and drawing up of the Charter, providing for management and doing all such things required to making AIFC a transparent body in its endeavour to develop football in India

Shri. Derrick Pereira plied his trade with Salgaocar SC & Tata Football Academy while also turning out for the Indian national team, participating in the 1984 AFC Asian Cup. As a coach he has managed a host of teams that include Vasco SC, DSK Shivajians, Mahindra United, Salgaocar SC & Churchill Brothers before taking charge of FC Goa from 2017.

I M Vijayan. The first player to win multiple 'Indian Player of the Year' Awards in 1993, 1997 & 1999. He scored 43 goals in 72 appearances for the Indian national team. He played for JCT, Mohan Bagan FC Kochin, East Bengal Club & Churchill Brothers SC. He was appointed the National Observer by the Ministry of Youth & Sports Affairs, Government of India. He was awarded the Arjuna Award in 2003.
